Our Children’s Services Early Intervention program is thrilled to welcome occupational therapist (OT), Aaron Picus. Picus is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago and is already making a difference for several Oak-Leyden families.
Occupational therapists work with clients to develop stronger cognitive, physical, sensory, and motor skills and enhance their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment. “I had OT as a kid and as a therapy provider, it’s rewarding to work with young children and watch them grow,” notes Picus. “Different kids have different styles. We help them learn in an environment that prepares them to hit their benchmarks and achieve their unique goals.”
Oak-Leyden’s Division Chief of Children’s Services, Rachel Wood, remarked, “Aaron is a tremendous asset for our program. The ability to provide OT rounds out our team with a discipline that ensures we serve families more thoroughly.
