Oak-Leyden is excited to announce that Melody Bilbo will be joining the Community Living services team as the new Assistant Director of Community Living, alongside Caffie Moore.
Melody Bilbo is a graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Prior to returning to school, she worked for several years providing services to adults and children with developmental disabilities—starting out as a DSP, managing a group home, and providing one-on-one services to families in transition. She has spent the last 5 years growing her own business running a creative studio in the Chicago Arts District, using the space not only for client work but also to host public events with a mission to nurture collaboration and creativity as a practice of wellness. She is passionate about community, building her own grassroots initiatives to empower and support underrepresented Chicagoans, and hopes to carry this outlook with her into Oak-Leyden. She is excited to help develop a team that embodies a person-centered focus and prioritizes community activation in supporting the individuals we serve.
