“Our Place”: Spaces For Adults Over 50

Home “Our Place”: Spaces For Adults Over 50

“Our Place” locations help adults with developmental disabilities over the age of 50 enjoy activities at a pace that is right for them.  The program was developed with consultation support from gerontology experts at Circle of Life.  “Our Place” rooms offer:

  • Professionally trained direct support staff who provide personalized assistance and tailored activities to adults with developmental disabilities aged 50 and older, meeting an important community healthcare need.
  • Field trips, crafts, games, snacks, and more that match the interests and needs of participants.
  • A quiet, comfortable, and calming environment, attentive to those with sensory disorders.

For more information, contact Chuck Nilles, Director of Vocational Services at cnilles@oak-leyden.org or at 708.383.2050 ext. 201.

“Our Place” locations are funded by the Russell and Josephine Kott Charitable Fund at the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation.  Furniture is provided in part from a donation from the Oak Park Area Association of Realtors.
