All Children are Musical.
Music Together® is a research-based program that leads to the development of musical competence in young children. Oak-Leyden subscribes to the philosophy of Music Together – that all children are musical and can achieve basic music competence, and that the participation of parents and caregivers, regardless of their musical ability, is essential to a child’s musical growth. Oak-Leyden chose this particular music class because of its focus on parent-child interaction.
Music Together also allows children to participate at their own level and assumes that different children will reap different rewards from their musical experiences. Children in the surrounding community can enroll in classes, providing an inclusive environment for children with developmental disabilities.
We encourage children, newborn to five-years-old, to participate at their own level, in their own way, for an enlightening experience.
